review: i ' m open to trying new restaurants - from a friend, a review, even an endorsement by a ' best of ' list. 99% of the time the recommendations are right on and i have a grand ol ' time... sahib india cuisine falls in the 1%. don ' t get me wrong - the food is ok here at sahib - the tandoori ' ed meats are flavorful and pretty good and naan is chewy and tasty. it ' s their curries that need help. they ' re too simple - lack the complex mingling of spices and flavors that make indian food so addictive. still, compared with the other indian places in alameda, sahib is better - but that ' s not really saying much is it? the food ' s not horrible and the service is attentive.
i recommend you order the kabuli naan
