review: went to this restaurant during the week, but i know that on weekends it gets very crowded. the staff is wonderful and they get some very enjoyable jazz musicians that are located in the bar, but can be enjoyed from the main dining room. though i expected an italian restaurant, this is a continental restaurant. the food is enjoyable and well-prepared. also, who can beat a free parking lot in oldtown alexandria.

review: i love la porta, it 's one of my fave places to have a nice dinner out. the staff and owner are very friendly and the atmosphere is romantic.
